Bevel gears are usually used for transmission between inersecting axis. Generally, bevel gears have 90 degree shaft angle. Bevel gears are generally devided into 2 types by tooth trace, straight bevel gears and spiral bevel gears.

Straight bevel gears
Straight bevel gear has a straight tooth trace, which is a straight line in the same direction as surface element of pitch cone. Our standard bevel gears offer 2:1 and 3:1 gear ratio. Compared with spiral bevel gears straight bevel gears can be made in smaller teeth. We standardized miniature module 0.5 bevel gears.

Spiral bevel gears
Tooth trace of spiral bevel gear is described as a curve with spiral angle. Spiral bevel gear has advantage over straight bevel gear strength, oscillation and noise level. Disadvantage of spiral bevel gear is axial thrust load. Therefore proper bearing location and firm support are needed. Our standard spiral bevel gears offer 1.5 : 1, 2:1 and 3:1 gear ratio.
